My Final Ebay Results

by Christy on November 21, 2009

I promised I would share my final Ebay results with you, and I am happy to say that most of my auctions have ended. Woo Hoo! I only have 2 more to go and I am DONE! Each year I think this will be the last year I do this and then I end up doing it again.

I mentioned before, that the majority of the items I sell on Ebay come from Target clearance, and most of the items have been found at 75% off. I pick up an item or 2 all year long and then save them to sell in November. This is how I earn some spending money for Christmas.
I knew this Lego would be a hot seller. Almost ALL Star Wars Lego’s are, especially if they are no longer available. I bought this set for $28.98 (75% off at Target), and it sold for $187.00. Not a bad profit, huh?
I had 3 sets of these Lazer Tag guns that I bought for $19.98 (also 75% off Target clearance), two of them sold with a Buy It Now for $119.99, and the 3rd sold for just over $100. I was kind of surprised by how well these did. We have several sets of these and we love them, so I knew if they didn’t sell they would make great gifts for someone.
Here are the totals:
Total earned for 26 auctions = $1106
Items cost me = $280
Ebay Fees = $86
Final Profit = $740

I had to cut down and make my own boxes for a lot of the large items, that wasn’t much fun. Running to the post office and UPS to mail the packages is one of my least favorite things about selling on Ebay. In the end though, I am happy I did it, because now I have $740 for Christmas that we didn’t have before. That’s $740 we can use to buy gifts, do fun Christmas activities, and spread Christmas cheer with. YEAH!
I would love to hear if you have a way that you make some extra money for Christmas. Please leave a comment if you do. You are more than welcome to leave a link if you want.
P.S. The final installment of the selling on Ebay series will be up soon.
