Become a fan of Mr. Peanut on Facebook, and you will be able to print a $1.50 coupon good on any Planter’s product.
Here’s a scenario where you can get 2 bags of Planter’s Trail Mix for Free at Walgreens
Buy 2 Planters Trail Mix @ 1.99
Use 2 $1.50 Printable coupons from Facebok
Use $1.00/2 coupon from March Walgreens coupon book
Final Price = 2 FREE
When doing this deal, you will want to hand the manufacturer’s coupons first, and then the store coupon. If you do it in reverse order, the total of the products will be 2 cents less than the total of the product, and the register will not be able to accept the manufacturer’s coupons.
Thanks to Money Saving Mom for the scenario.

I tried this scenario this evening and the Planters coupons beeped. Even though the clerk recognized the product was exactly as stated on the MFCs, she said that sometimes, they run across MFCs which they cannot use in tandem with the store coupon and that this is apparently one of them. I was hoping she’d force it through but no…. So, I left w/o anything. Hope others don’t have this problem – it’s the first time it’s happened to me.
I an sorry you had a problem Rebecca. Do you remember which order the cashier scanned the coupons? If the store coupon was done first, that may be the reason why it didn’t work. When you use manufacturer’s coupons and Walgreens coupons together you want to make sure to hand over the manufacturer’s coupons first and then the Walgreens coupons. If you do it in this order, the registers shouldn’t beep.
Here is why:
If you give Walgreens coupons first
3.98 total for 2 Planters
-1.00 walgreens coupons
=2.98 total
-3.00 in manuf. coupons (1.50 x 2)
Register won’t accept coupons, because they are more than the total of the product.
Manufacturer coupons first:
3.98 total for 2 Planters
-3.00 in manufacturer coupons (1.50 x 2)
= .98
-1.00 Walgreens coupon (they don’t act like manufacturer coupons, so they don’t have to be the same as the price of the product
**If your state doesn’t charge sales tax on food you may need a small item to cover the 2 cents overage.
