As a child our parents would always yell at us because as soon as the box was open the arms dive strait to the bottom of the box in a frantic panic trying to see who grab the prize first. Cereal flying every which way and mom trying to rip the box away. It makes me laugh looking back at what brats we were!

i remember sticking my hand down the box (even if it was full of cereal) just so my brother wouldn’t beat me to the prize first..haha!

I remember pouring all of the cereal out just so that I could get the toy and paying for it later by my mom. LOL

I have fond memories of finding toys inside of cereal boxes as a child, but it didn’t happen often ~ my Dad raised sugar beets and he didn’t like for us to purchase anything “presweetend” (he wanted us to use sugar) lol
So, not only were toys inside a cereal box a rare treat, so was cereal.

I do remember digging through the cereals that I hated, just to get the prize. My mom would hate that my sister and I would never get it. All we wanted was the toy! : )

It was always a race to get to the bottom of the cereal & find the toy. I also remember getting the toy out of the Cracker Jack’s box!

My husband I and were just discussing the other day how when we were kids there were so many fun things inside cereal boxes! I miss that!!!

I once won a bike in a cereal box when I was a kid. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. It even had a banana seat.

I have many fond memories of fighting with my sister over the toys in the cereal boxes. I was a pro at getting the toy out without emptying the box first.

I loved finding the toys in cereal boxes. Sometimes we would buy a specific cereal based on the toys inside. I always loved the games and things on the back of the box too!

Oh yeah, great memories of prizes in cereal boxes. I used to pull the bag out of the box to look for the toy and then could never get the bag back in quite right once all the cereal had shifted… it was a dead giveaway that I was nosing around for the prize! Great marketing plan, I wonder why it didn’t stick?

I used to LOVE to get the toy out of the cereal box! I remember my mom getting so frustrated because i would only pick the cereal by the toy they had, even if she knew I wasn’t going to eat it. She has told me since that she ate a lot of cereal for lunch and dinner while I was growing up. HAHA! But, she said she did it because my face would light up like it was Christmas morning when I would get the toy out of the box.
