Take the ALDI One Week Challenge + Giveaway (3) $25 ALDI Gift Certificates

by Christy on September 1, 2010

Do you have an ALDI grocery store nearby? If so, ALDI is challenging you to take the One Week Challenge. They want you to do your grocery shopping at ALDI for one week and then compare your receipts with other grocery stores. They believe that you will see that cart-to-cart nobody beats ALDI.

ALDI prices are typically 30 to 40 percent less than store brands at traditional supermarkets and 15 to 20 percent less than big box store brands.  Quality, taste and satisfaction are always double guaranteed at ALDI. If for any reason a shopper is not 100% satisfied with any product, ALDI will replace the product and refund the money.

Here are some things I learned about shopping at ALDI for the first time (while in Florida).   Go HERE to learn everything you need to know about shopping at ALDI.

  • You will need to bring a quarter to get a shopping cart (you will get it back when you return the cart).
  • You will want to bring your own bags from home. They do charge a very small fee if you need to use their bags.
  • ALDI does not accept coupons.

I asked my readers what they loved at ALDI, and lots of people love their Fit & Active line of products and several people raved about their brownies. So, you might want to check those items out while you are there. You can use their store locator to see if you have an ALDI location near you.

Giveaway:  3 people will win a $25 gift certificates to ALDI, so you can try the one week challenge for yourself.

Here’s how to enter:

Leave a comment letting me know what you love about ALDI.  (If you have never shopped there before, you can just say “haven’t shopped their yet.”

I like Aldi’s prices on eggs and milk. I also like that you have to pay a quarter to get your cart back after using it. That way, my car never gets banged up by lazy shoppers who opt out of bringing their carts back to the corral.

I like lots of things about Aldi, but my favorites are the prices on milk, eggs, and produce. By shopping at Aldi we have greatly reduced our grocery budget even while now eating a very strict “healthy” diet!

I haven’t shopped there yet, but the one they just built near me has its grand opening on 9/9!

the low prices and the fact that the food tastes just as good is great to me! I don’t live near an Aldi’s anymore, and am trying to win this for my dad. Thanks for the chance!

I LOVE my local Aldi. I am there at least once a week. They have great prices on produce, and I buy most of my canned goods there. I also buy a lot of my baking supplies there. Thanks for this opportunity…would love to win a gift cert. to Aldi!!

I shop at Aldi’s a lot. I love the savings on all their products.

Melissa E September 3, 2010 at 8:39 pm

Haven’t shopped there yet, but now I am interested!

Frances September 3, 2010 at 8:40 pm

I like the fact that at Aldi’s you have to bring your own bags. Not only does it help keep their costs down, which in turns saves the shopper, but it also helps with the environment :) If you don’t want to use bags or if you forget to bring your own, usually they will have boxes up front you can also use to pack your groceries. I also like that they sell, at a minimal cost, thermal bags especially for your cold items.

I love Aldi for their cheap milk prices. About $1 per gallon cheaper than our grocery stores here.

We love Aldi for their fit and active items and flower bouquets and other generally low prices. I love your FB posts and things you do to help us save!!

Kris Freitag September 4, 2010 at 6:22 am

There is an aldi’s about an hour away. We have never gone–my grandparents go and go regularly. We need to try it. Anything an hour away becomes an entire adventure as we try to cram as much into that day as possible. We’ll give it a try though.

Jen Rysdam September 4, 2010 at 6:37 am

Added your button to my blog, and I’m also a follower on FB. I LOVE Aldi. I go there every week and get as many things there as I can. I don’t do produce or meat- I just haven’t been impressed with the quality of them. I like that their prices are always so much lower than our regular grocery store. Plus, I don’t even have to worry about coupons! I’m an AVID coupon user, but sometimes its nice knowing I can get the cheap prices without coupons! :)

I would like to enter to win the ALDI gift cards, but I haven’t shopped there yet. The closest store is about 25 minutes away, so I was not sure if the prices made it worth it. Sounds like the deals would be worth the trip! Thanks again for all your hard work to help us get the great deals!
