In my Target match-ups this week, I mentioned that you can get an Airwick Candle absolutely FREE if your store has them marked down to $2.99.
Airwick 40 Hour candle 2.99
3.00 coupon from 11/14 Smartsource insert
Final Price = FREE
You can use that FREE candle to make a thoughtful gift for someone. Â To prove you don’t have to spend a lot of money to give a thoughtful gift, I am going to share 3 ways you can gift your FREE candle to someone.
Gift #1: This is super simple, just wrap the candle in cello, add a bow and attach a tag. Sweet, simple and inexpensive too! You can find the clear cellophane in the gift wrap aisle. I picked up mine at the Christmas clearance last year for super cheap.
Cost:
Candle = FREE
Cello = .25
Total Gift #1 = $ .25
Gift #2: If you would like to dress the gift up a little more, simply pick up one of the felt baskets from the Target Dollar spot and slip it in. It fits perfectly!
Cost:
Candle = FREE
Cello = .25
Felt Gift Basket = 1.00
Total Gift #2 = $1.25
Gift #3: Still want something a little bigger? Pick up the gift box and bag of Christmas candy in the Target Dollar Spot that I have pictured above.
Just add the candle and candy to the gift box, wrap in cello and add a tag. Â Voila!
Cost:
Candle = FREE
Cello = .25
Gift Basket = 1.00
Candy = 1.00
Total Gift #3 = $2.25
You could certainly make your own treat to add to the basket to save even more money. I think any of these would make great gifts for teachers, neighbors or coworkers!

such great ideas! everything looks pretty!

@staton angel I would try Ebay if you need more coupons. You can also see if you could pick up 3 more of the Sunday papers, they should still be on sale at some stores.

My Target was $4.99 as well. Try Albertsons they have them for $3.99.I used both of my $3 qs there last night. I got the square glass apple cinnamon and must say smells amazing and I have yet to even light it.

What is the regular price on these so that if it is still decent I know to get the coupons? Also does anyone know how to get multipule inserts from the oregonian? Or how do you get your inserts?

Only the cherry tart and spice(?) scents were $2.99 and they were located near the end shelves facing the aisles on a hanging shelving system on the side of it. All the other scents where all the other candles are located are priced at $4.99. Hope that helps.

i would check the prices before buying more coupons… my store in sherwood, or has them at $4.99 ALL scents… you never know if you will find the same price… 🙂 just a thought.

Thanks so much, I sure wish you could just buy the paper isserts and call it good instead of all this running around.

I used to make gift baskets in my shop and have learned that you need to be careful when combining a candle and food together. The food can absorb the candle scent and taste terrible. Wrap each item in another bag before adding them to the gift basket. Double wrapping does help. Also many people do not open the gift right away because it is so pretty, and they want to enjoy it for awhile. Hope this helps!

Make sure you price check the candles. My store (usually a pricier one) didn’t have any marked down. I first scanned the purple candle and it was $4.99, but the orange and red ones scanned at $2.99. Hopefully you can get a free one!:)

I got mine last night, but the coupons didn’t come off. I didn’t notice it until after I checked out, so I went to customer service and got back cash. Fine with me 🙂

I found that the holiday scents were still $4.99, but I found the $2.99 candles on another display down the aisle. Thanks for this idea!
