I don’t know about you, but I get pretty excited about any item I find at Target that is 75% off. Sometimes I may love something I find, but it isn’t exactly the right color for my home. The fun thing about buying things so cheap is you can play around with them, change them up a bit and you don’t have to worry if it didn’t work as planned, because it didn’t cost you a ton of money in the first place.
When you are shopping Target, I suggest you don’t just look at an item and see if it will work for you, see if you can make it work for you. I don’t recommend doing this with regular price items, or even item that are only 30-50% off, but if it’s 75% off, then go crazy!
Here is an example of an item that I picked up and I changed to fit my daughter’s room.
I bought this artwork primarily for the frame and shadow box, I had no intention of using the print that it came with.
I was able to turn the clearance artwork into this piece that works our perfectly for my daughter’s room. If I would have bought a shadow frame like this somewhere it would have cost me a lot more than the clearance artwork I picked up.
Here are two items that I picked up for 75% off at Target, I have plans to alter them a bit.
I saw this wall organizer and knew it would be perfect to help me get organized. I really liked the price, it was $2.24 (reg $8.99). I thought it would be perfect to keep my kids forms and important papers all in one place. We always seem to be misplacing things at our house! Unfortunately, the color did not thrill me. I like the color, I just don’t have anything in my house that is this color. So, I bought it because I knew exactly what I could do to make it work for me. I hope to share the new and improved organizer next week…so stay tuned.
I bought this piece just for the canvas. This was on clearance for $2.48 (reg $9.99) and I knew that was cheaper than I would be able to buy a regular square canvas for at a craft store. I have a project in mind for this one too, but you will have to wait a bit before I share the results.
So, there you have it! You can find cheap clearance items and dress them up to work for you. Have you changed up any items you found on clearance?

I buy sheet sets on clearance to use for fabric. I made a bed set, drapes, and other coordinating items for my daughter’s room with some of Target’s coordinating sheet sets. Way cheaper than you could ever find fabric at a craft store and really cute too!

I got a “documents/certificate” frame 75% off and found a disney princess poster at the dollar store. I cut off the bottom of the poster to fit the frame and it looks fabulous in my daughter’s pink room! I saved the scraps from the bottom of the poster to make a coordinating frame around a picture of my kids.
