Target Training: Shopping Target.com & $100 Target Gift Card Giveaway!!!!

by Christy on November 8, 2011

For the final installment of the 20 Days of Target Training, I will be sharing some features of shopping at Target.com, and ways you can save money.  While I prefer shopping in person at an actual Target store, you can also find some great deals online at Target.com.

Get 5% off and FREE Shipping every day:

If you have a Target REDcard you will receive 5% off and FREE shipping on your order, there is no minimum purchase to receive the FREE shipping. (Once you get to the Target site, scroll down for the information on the REDcard).  I only suggest this as an option if you pay your card off every month, it won’t save any money if you incur interest charges.  They also offer a debit card option as well.

Shop Daily Deals at Target.com. Always Free Shipping.

Daily Deals (one day only & always FREE shipping):

The Daily Deals at Target.com change every day. Each day they will offer several new deals at a great discount.  All of these items also ship for FREE!

Coupon Codes:

Several of the Target store coupons can also be used online.  If they can be used online you will see a coupon code mentioned.  The deal on the Lego Heroica game is a great example of this.

24850_Great Gifts, Great Prices + Spend $50, Get Free Shipping on Select Items Target.com

Free Shipping (without Target REDcard):

Target will occasionally offer FREE shipping on select items and also will free shipping when you spent a certain amount of money.   For instance, right now they are offering free shipping when you spend $50 on select items that would make great gifts.

Clearance Deals:

There are clearance deals to be found on Target.com, however they do not have the exact same markdowns online that you will find in-store.  If you see a Barbie on clearance in-store at Target for 75% off, there is a chance that same doll may still be full price on Target.com.  You will have to do a little searching for some great deals.  Plus, if you can get free shipping via one of the methods I outlined here it would make for an ever better deal.

Cash Back from Ebates:

I am a big fan of shopping through Ebates so you can earn cash back on your purchase. Ebates is currently offering 3% cash back at Target when you shop through their site.

If you haven’t shopped through Ebates before, it is super simple and very rewarding! New members will receive a FREE $5 credit into their account once they make their first $25 purchase. Here is what you do to get 3% cash back when shopping at Target (or thousands of other stores too!).

  • Within a couple of weeks the cash back will be credited to your Ebates account.

WIN a $100 Target Gift Card! Make sure you enter the giveaway for your chance to win.

I bought my little boy Star Wars Lego Flannel pajamas. No sale, but I did get 5% off with my Target Card. They were just too cute to pass up! Oh and how I avoid interest charges on my Target card is to pay it every time my husband gets paid (2x a month). That means it doesn’t get too big for me to pay off and I figure it is money I would spend during the 15 days on basics anyway.

Shirley Martin November 11, 2011 at 1:34 pm

I have done some of the stacking of coupons at Target to get great deals then on top of that used our target card and got another 5% off the entire order. The thing I regret is that Target is so far away from us that I don’t get to go there often.

Traci November 11, 2011 at 3:37 pm

I bought lots of Halloween decorations and costumes for future use at 90% off. I think I spent around $20, so that’s nearly 200 in savings. I knew the schedule, but the signs still said 70%. I scanned a few items and sure enough it was 90%. The selection was still really good. I did let everyone that was browsing the aisles into the little “secret” the signs were hiding… :)

Connie Petertonjes November 11, 2011 at 3:43 pm

I love your website. I love getting my 2 year old daughters clothes on clearance at target! My hubby and I met at target 13 years ago!

Courtney November 11, 2011 at 8:31 pm

I’m a member of ebates.

I’ve been inspired by your blog & began clearance shopping back in July (when I found out about the christmas in July sale). I saved a ton at that sale & have been hardcore ever since! I’m preparing for a move in a couple months & decided I would shop clearance to come up with some new home decor. In doing so I’ve been able to pick up some AMAZING items (including bedding, sheets, photo frames, mirrors, rugs, juicers…..the list goes on & on but I don’t want to take up too much room. lol). I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet to see my total savings & to date, they are as follows:

Total Retail on my clearance finds = $1094.13 but the amount I Paid = $235.16.

AND if you include my Christmas (July) sale then Total Retail = $1718.28…..but amount I Paid = $389.11

So I saved $1329.17 or 77%!!

Even if I don’t wind the gift card, I’ve already “won” so much by reading your blog. So, thank you for all you do! :D
