Bakery Outlets are one of my Favorite Ways to Save (no coupons required)

by Christy on February 21, 2012

One of my favorite ways to save without coupons is to buy my bread goods at Bakery Outlets.  There is a Oroweat Bakery Outlet across the street from the Kent Target, so I make it a habit to stop their after my Monday Target trip.

Here are the items I was able to pick up at the bakery outlet yesterday.  All of these items were part of the “markdown” section and they all were only $1.00 each.  These aren’t expired items either, several of them have expiration dates of nearly a week.

The savings can be even bigger, if your bakery outlet publishes coupons.

The Oroweat store also has a punch card, where I will be rewarded with a free markdown item once my card is full.

Here are a variety of Bakery Outlets, you can see if their is one your area:

Do you frequent Bakery Outlets? I would love to hear your thoughts and which outlet is your favorite.

We go to the Hostess outlet. All items are not hostell though – they have lots of overstock on bread from various grocery stores. I get bread for under $1 a loaf and it’s not the airy stuff. I have a place reserved in my freezer just for bread so when I go I stock up and then freeze. It’s been such a money saver for us.

We shop at the Franz bakery outlet in Springfield, OR. We regularly find fancy loaves for around a $1

We frequent a Flowers Bakery outlet. Everything is $.88 cents (or $.89?). Everything … bagels, muffins, tortillas, all breads including organic, multi-grain, rye, etc. Awesome stuff, never ever had a bad loaf. I buy $20 worth and freeze it. No way in the world I’d spend close to $3 for a loaf of bread at the grocery store!

i love our local entenmanns and schwebel’s outlets! the specialty bagels and english muffins are always about $1.50. the best is when they have boboli pizza crusts on the mark down table – those things never, ever go on sale at the grocery store and they are great to keep in the freezer for an easy pizza night. entenmann’s has helped me out in a bind at work too – every now and then we have events with dignitaries and i can provide a nice spread of mini-bagels, cookies, and strudel for next to nothing. it looks like i went to a lot of trouble and i get mega bonus points with the bosses. :)
