Make your own Washer Pendant Necklaces

Today I am sharing how to make Washer Pendant Necklaces. These are super easy to make and also very inexpensive. The turn out super cute too!

Here are the supplies you will need:

• Washers (pick up at Hardware store, I found mine at Fred Meyer)
• Scrapbook Paper (smaller designs work best)
• Mod Podge
• Judikins Diamond Glaze, 2-Ounce
• Paintbrush
• Cording
• Cord Tips
• Jump Rings
• Clasps
• Needle Nose Pliers

The first thing you will want to do, is cut the circles to match your washers.  You can cut them so a little of the silver shows on the edge (this is what I did) or you can cover the entire washer.  You can cut them with circle punches, by hand or with a Silhouette (that is what I used).

Once your shapes are cut, using the paintbrush, you will want to add Modge Podge to the front of the Washer.

You will then want to add your circle cut out directly on top of the Modge Podge you applied to the washer.

Next, you will want to use the paintbrush to apply Modge Podge over the top of the paper.   You will want to paint it on so it’s smooth.   Once you are done, let it sit until it is dry.

Once the Modge Podge is dry, you will cover the front of the washer with Diamond Glaze, this will give it a nice glassy look.  You will want to check for any air bubbles during this step, if you see any you will want to remove them, I use a needle to get rid of them.  If you want a thicker glass look, you can let it dry and then add another coat of Diamond Glaze.   Once covered with Diamond Glaze you will need to let it dry for several hours.

Next, you will add the cording to the washer.  To do this, you will want to cut your cording, I usually cut it a couple inches longer than I need it, just for safe measure.   Once you have your cord, fold it in half.

Take the part where it is folded and thread it up through the center of the washer.

Take the ends of the cording and thread it up through the loop that you just put through the center of the washer. Keep pulling the cording through until it is tight.

Once you pull the cording through, your final product should look like the image above.

Your final step will be adding the claps.   Once you have done that, you are done!
