Zaycon Foods is a Washington based company that focuses on bringing fresh meats and other products direct to consumers at wholesale prices. One of the items they are currently delivering is Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, which is 100% natural with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients. The chicken comes fresh directly from the farm and has never been frozen.
The chicken is sold in 40 lb boxes, and currently sells for only $1.48 per lb. That is a stock up price for chicken!! If you live in any of the following areas, you will be able to take advantage of this great deal. If you aren’t in one of the current delivery locations, make sure you register and email Zaycon Foods as they will do their best to get to your area if enough people are interested.
The 40 lbs of Chicken
The chicken comes in a 40 lb. box and there are 4 bags in each box (with approx 10 lbs in each bag). This makes it easy to separate if you decide to split an order with a friend or two.
The chicken was very fresh, and I was pleased with the fact that the trimming I had to do was very minimal. I chose to freeze the majority of the chicken breasts, but I also decided to can some.
Canning the chicken was super easy! I just filled several pint canning jars with the chicken, added lids and then processed the jars in a pressure cooker. I didn’t have to add anything. It is so easy that ANYONE can do it!
I ended up with 8 jars of canned chicken and TONS of frozen chicken (all of the chicken I froze is not in this picture. I just photographed a sampling of the chicken that I froze).
I love the canned chicken! I plan on picking up some more chicken at the upcoming sale and canning all of it. Having the canned chicken makes meals super easy. We have already used some of the canned chicken for a casserole, chicken salad sandwiches, and Asian Wonton Salad (from my favorite recipe site – Our Best Bites)
How to get the chicken
You will need to register at Zaycon Foods. Once you have registered, you can choose the location that works best for you. For example, I chose the Puyallup/Tacoma area, and found out that Zaycon foods will be in the area on Friday, November 12th.
Once you choose your pick-up location you can place your order. Just choose how many 40 lb cases you would like to purchase and pay for your order. When the pick-up day arrives just bring your receipt with you to the pick-up location to get your chicken.
Would you like to win a 40 lb box of Chicken? (3 winners)
Zaycon Foods is generously donating a 40 lb box of their Boneless Skinless Chicken breast to 3 Thrifty and Thriving readers! How sweet is that? Don’t live within any of the current Zaycon Food pick up areas? They don’t want you to be left out either. If your name is chosen and you are not in the pick-up area you can win a $35 gift card to the grocery store of your choice.

I’d love to win–because, our family eats chicken several nights a week. Probably chicken stir-fry is my favorite (although grilled chicken breasts are pretty delicious, also). Sometimes when I make zucchini casserole, I add cooked chicken. I also have a great recipe called “Chicken in Puff Pastry” It’s pretty simple to make, yet really impressive to serve.
Thanks for the giveaway.

Hello,
Please enter me in the contest. My favorite chicken dish is really simple and delicious – Balsamic Chicken. I simple drizzle olive oil, balsamic vinegar (from Trader Joe’s) over boneless, skinless chicken breasts, then sprinkle my mix (granulated garlic, granulated onion, black pepper in equal amounts) and bake at 475 degrees for about 10 minutes (depends on how cold the chicken is from the fridge and how thick) and you will have delicious moist chicken. I also slice it and refrigerate it and use it on salads or in pasta dishes – ummmm soo good.
Thanks!
