I love the buttery taste of shortbread and these cute little morsels have a touch of holiday cheer. Be careful they are slightly addictive! I recommend making a double batch of these fun tasty treats.You can use any basic shortbread recipe, I use this one:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 3 TBSP sugar
- 1-2 Tbsp holiday sprinkles
Cream butter then add sugar. Gradually add flour mix until well combined. Finish by adding sprinkles and fold in to batter.
With your fingers shape dough into 3/4 inch squares. Don’t worry if they are not perfect they can by cleaned up with a knife after they have cooled.
Bake in a 325 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Let cool. Enjoy as is or you can clean them up to make perfect squares by trimming with a knife.
