Gyoza is a big hit at our house! I decided I would be fun to make some Gyoza at home, we made it a family night and got the kids involved. We loved this recipe, these were so fresh and delicious and surprisingly pretty easy to make. The recipe I am sharing is a slight adaptation to the one found at Cooks with Cocktails.
In bowl add pork, carrots, pepper flakes, garlic, ginger, green onion, cabbage, onion, salt and pepper. With hands mix all ingredients together until evenly combined. Add a small spoonful meat filling into round dumpling wrappers. Moisten the edge of dumpling to seal.
In large skillet, add 2 Tbsp of sesame oil and fry Gyoza over medium heat. Continue to turn until golden brown around all sides of the dumpling.
While frying the dumplings, whisk together the dipping sauce. Simply add all ingredients and whisk until combined. Divide into individual serving bowls. Serve with Gyoza and enjoy!
This makes a pretty large batch, I cooked half and put the other half in the freezer for later. You can pick up most of these ingredients at your local grocery store. However, if you have an asian market close by I recommend shopping there, it should save you some money and the ingredients may be fresher.
