I am thrilled to announce that I will once again be giving away a Silhouette Portrait! If you have been wanting one of these wonderful little machines, now would be a great time to purchase one, since Silhouette has a special money saving promo this month on both the Silhouette Portrait and the Silhouette Cameo. I think this month’s special is one of the best ones they have ever had. All of the bundles contain a $25 gift card so you can download designs from the Silhouette store.
If you already own a Silhouette machine, they even have a super bundle for you, a $25 gift card and a 25-pack of their new chipboard for only $19.99 (that’s less than the value of the gift card!) You will find all the details on how to order at the bottom of this post.
I love my Silhouette and I use it on a weekly basis! I used it to add labels to our organizational wall in our laundry room and I just recently made a cute fruit basket that I filled with cookies to give to a friend. I cut out the fruit basket out of chipboard using my silhouette, then I dressed it up a bit with a scallop border and some baking twine. I love using the Silhouette to make cute gift packaging, it’s just one of the many uses.
One lucky Thrifty and Thriving readers is going to win a Silhouette Portrait, which contains the following:

I usually make my daughters birthday invites, decorations and any party favors by hand. When we had our oldest daughter’s 4th bday party, I put together a pencil box w/school supplies and personalized with the child’s name on the box and hand painted it with paint pen. Took me 3-4 evenings to elaborately paint 25 boxes with permanent paint pen. My husband rolled his eyes and said I was wasting my time. That weekend though, my daughter’s friends LOVED the boxes. And so did the parents. They raved about the boxes. They loved the way it was painted and the school supplies that was in there. Our oldest still says that was her best bday party ever. And she’s 14 now. Since then, I’ve always made everything by hand because I feel it’s more personal and made with love.
I also hand make decorations, scrapbooking stuff for family vacations and frames, and cards for gifts. My husband always asks me why I do it as it is so time consuming and I always, always have to plan waaaaaaay in advance and try to finish it sometimes months in advance because it takes so long, but the end product, even though it sometimes doesn’t look so professional, it is made with love and a personalized touch, and the recipients love it!! I have not been able to do anything since August 2012 due to two rotator cuff surgeries in 8 months and I have my two daughters birthdays coming up and my sister-in-laws first baby shower this August that I am co-hosting, and having this nifty machine would definitely help me not only to decorate both birthdays and baby shower, but to help create the card stock invites and personalized party favors and bags as well! Not to mention help make the thank you cards and scrap book pages for the SIL afterwards and save my shoulder from all the cutting and measuring and cut the prep time down as well ;)!! Thanks for the awesome opportunity giveaway Christy!
