If you love to bake for the holidays you have to try this Pretzel Toffee. It’s quite the crowd pleaser. I love that it’s quick and easy to make and oh so delicious. This is a spin off of a toffee recipe I made, but I’ve added pretzels. It gives you the perfect combination of sweet and salty!
Pretzel Toffee:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 TBSP corn syrup
- 3 TBSP water
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups of mini pretzels
- 1 TBSP coarse salt or sea salt
Prepare 15×9 inch pan, line with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Add pretzels evenly on to the pan. Set aside for later.
In saucepan, add butter, sugar, corn syrup and water. At medium-high heat bring to boil, once it boiling reduce to medium heat. Clip a candy thermometer to side of pan and continue to stir until it reaches 290 degrees (hard crack stage).
Pour into prepared pan over pretzels and quickly spread thoughtout the pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top of the candy and let sit for a few minutes. When chocolate looks like it is soft, spread evenly with a spatula. Add salt and let set. Break into pieces. Enjoy!
