If you are a fan of Red Velvet cake you will love these heavenly Red Velvet Brownies. The cream cheese frosting is so good with the red velvet brownies.
Red Velvet Brownies Ingredients:
- 4 oz bittersweet baking chocolate
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 oz red liquid food coloring
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1 (8 oz) cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cup powder sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish:
- shaved white chocolate (if desired)
Preheat oven to 350. Prep 9×9 square pan with foil that extends over the edge of baking pan and grease the foil.
Melt chocolate and butter in microwave for about 2 minutes. Check and stir every 30 seconds to prevent burning.
Once chocolate/butter mixture is nice and smooth add sugar and eggs one at a time. Whisk after each egg is added. Gently whisk in the remaining ingredients.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for about 45-50 minutes. Use a toothpick to make sure it is baked all the way through before removing from the oven. Let cool for 2 hours.
While brownies are cooling make frosting. Whip cream cheese, and butter. Add vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and whip for 1 minute.
Once brownies are completely cooled lift brownies from pan, using the side of the foil as handles. Frost the brownies and cut into 16 pieces. Garnish with white chocolate if desired.
