We recently stayed at the newly remodeled Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. We booked a pretty sweet deal through Priceline at $156 a night. Fun fact! This is actually the resort we stayed at on our Honeymoon over 25 years ago. The resort has made some serious upgrades since we stayed there and I am going to share the updates with you.
It’s almost necessary to stay at a Disney resort hotel in order to take advantage of booking your FastPass+ selections early. If you stay at a Disney resort you can book your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance instead of the usual 30 days. The popular rides go quick with FastPass+, the last 3 times we have visited Disney World and stayed at a Disney hotel I booked our FastPass+ options on the 60 day mark and we still missed out on some of the most popular rides. To take advantage of the early booking of FastPass+ you can also stay at one of the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels (for stays in 2019). These are hotels not owned by Disney but currently give you the advantage 60-day FastPass+ selections and Extra Magic Hours. With Extra Magic Hours hotel guests can take advantage of additional time in the park either before the normal opening time or after the park closing time.
The theming at the Disney hotels are always so magical. I love the fact that at Disney World you can find a hotel to fit every budget, which isn’t necessarily the case at Disneyland. The Caribbean Beach Resort is a moderate hotel category. They also have value and deluxe resorts, and they even have a campground.
The newly remodeled Caribbean Beach resort lobby is fabulous, there is plenty of room to check in and I love the fun splashes of color.
You will find a Caribbean theme throughout the room. The rooms can sleep up to five people. I am pretty sure the beds at this resort used to be double beds and they have now been upgraded to queen size. The beds were extremely comfortable, I was very impressed with the mattresses.
The fifth person can sleep on the small pull out bed featuring artwork of Mickey Mouse lounging on a hammock. This is a small bed, so it would be perfect for a child.
I appreciated the fact that there was a double sink which made it easy for all of us to get ready in the morning.
The main pool at this resort is pretty amazing, it is themed like a colonial Spanish fortress. There are 2 waterslides, one measuring 102 feet long. My son had lots of fun on the longer water slide. There is a shipwreck play area for little ones too. You will also find smaller pools around the resort as well.
We were very impressed with the quick serve Centertown Market they have near the lobby. We had breakfast and chose the Create-Your-Own Breakfast Bowl. The service was quick, the food was delicious and the portions were big. I thought the price was pretty good too. I love the fact that you can order your meal ahead of time from your room and get it at the pick-up window.
They have other restaurants on property, like the Banana Cabana, Sebastian’s Bistro and more.
If you drive your own car you will have to pay a $19 parking fee per night (parking used to be free at Disney hotels). If you don’t drive your own car, transportation to and from the parks will be via bus. Eventually, you will be able to use the new Disney Skyliner
I highly recommend the newly refurbished Caribbean Resort for your next Disney World vacation. I’d love to hear about your favorite Disney World hotels.
Whenever we visit Disney World we always make a stop at Disney’s Character Warehouse to save on official Disney Parks souvenirs.
