Shrimp Street Taco with Lime Cilantro Slaw

Shrimp Street Tacos.  Perfect meal for Taco Tuesday!



  • 1 lb jumbo raw shrimp
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • Dash of pepper


  • 2 1/2 cups of cabbage mix (green, purple and carrots)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Juice and zest from one lime
  • 1/2 of a jalapeƱo (seeds removed and diced)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp of kosher salt
  • dash of pepper


  • tortillas (street taco size)
  • sliced grape tomatoes
  • slaw
  • shrimp
  • sliced lime, cilantro, sour cream (optional garnish)


  1. To make the slaw,  start with a bowl and add yogurt, olive oil, garlic, lime zest, lime juice, salt and pepper.  Whisk together until combined.  Add Cabbage mix, cilantro and diced jalapeƱos.  Toss together and make sure everything is coated evenly.  Set aside in refrigerator.   Chop tomatoes, cilantro, and slice lime.  Set aside for assembly.
  2. To cook shrimp, add shrimp to bowl with chili powder, cumin, minced garlic, pepper and salt.  Toss shrimp to incorporate spices.   In frying pan add olive oil on medium heat.  Add seasoned shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes, flip shrimp over and cook until opaque.
  3. To assemble: warm tortillas, add slaw, shrimp, tomatoes, cilantro, and fresh lime.
