These candy corn colored cakes in a jar are cute and fun for fall. They would be perfect for a party because they are ready to go. No need to slice and serve a cake.
Here is what you need for these Candy Corn Mini Cakes in a Jar
- White Cake Mix (+ oil & eggs)
- Food Coloring (yellow & orange)
- Vanilla Frosting
- Candy Corn
- Sprinkles
- Half Pint canning jars
Prepare the white cake mix according to package directions and divide equally into 3 bowls. Use food coloring and make one bowl of batter yellow and one orange, leaving the last one while. I use these food colors from Wilton and I love them.
Bake each colored batter (white, yellow, orange) in a separate round 9 inch or 9×9 square pan baking pan. Baking times will vary, check the time for a round cake on cake box and cook a little less than they suggest for 2 round cakes.
Once the cake is completely cooled, use a round 2 1/4 cookie cutter to cut circles out of each cake. In each jar stack a yellow circle, top with frosting, stack orange circle, add more frosting, stack the while circle and finish off with another layer of frosting.
Top them off with some candy corn colored sprinkles and a candy corn on the very top. I also tied some baker’s twine around mine. Makes approx. 9 cake filled jars. Enjoy!
