Who doesn’t love macaroni and cheese? Add a little bacon and it gets that much better! The great thing about this recipe is is cooks in your slow cooker, which makes it super easy.
Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese with Bacon
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- butter (for greasing the slow cooker)
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- few strips cooked bacon (optional, but hello…it’s BACON)
Boil water on stove top and cook macaroni for about 7 minutes. While pasta is cooking, butter the sides and bottom slow cooker.
Combine the macaroni with all of the ingredients, except for the bacon into your slow cooker and mix well. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 hours. It’s a good idea to stir occasionally.
The last 5 minutes of cook time I added cooked bacon and sprinkled some extra cheese on top. This slow cooker macaroni and cheese recipe will serve 4.
