We just got back yesterday from 4 fabulous days at Disneyland. I thought I would share some photos from our trip.
We were able to check out the new Cars Land, and thought it was fabulous.
When we entered the line for Luigi’s Flying Tires, a cast member stopped my son and asked him where he got his shirt, because he had never seen it before. It was a shirt for my son’s favorite Disney Podcast – Mousetaliga (He’s the biggest Disney fan in our family, hence the Disney Podcast shirt). The cast member thought his shirt was cool, so he gave us a pass to get directly on the ride without having to wait in line. How cool is that? My son’s Disney geeky-ness paid off!
Here is my husband and my 2 youngest on Luigi’s Flying Tires.
We spent some time riding one of our favorite family rides…Toy Story Midway Mania.
Meeting characters is always part of the fun. My daughter loved meeting the Mad Hatter, and she said “The Mad Hatter was the BEST Meet and Greet EVER!!!” If you get the chance, you should check out Musical Chairs with the Mad Hatter and Alice on Main Street near the piano. It happens at 1:00 and it’s a hoot!
Treats are always part of the fun on a Disney trip, and my son got his favorite, which he calls a Mickey Mouse dilly bar (can you tell what treat he orders when we go to Dairy Queen?)
The ice cream was rock solid and my son actually lost his tooth biting into his ice cream.
Souvenirs are also part of the fun, my son got a Chip hat (he bought Dale last year).
My daughter chose a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt.
We also enjoyed a parade or two.
There was lots of smiling and laughing. There was also some teasing and crying, but those don’t make for very fun photos!
We also really enjoyed the new entrance to California Adventure, I love what they did. The Walt Statue was awesome too.
A big HUGE thanks to my friend (and blogging assistant) Shelley for keeping things running while I was gone.
Anytime Christy, I was happy to help!!! I love all the pictures and I can’t wait until next year when my family and I go!!!
Where did you stay for lodging? Was the price reasonable?
Looks like you guys had fun! Too bad they took the balls out of Luigi’s, it was way more fun before. :/ For anyone interested in riding Radiator Springs Racers, fast passes usually go by 10am, so get there early or take advantage of magic mornings if you can (resort guests only). You can also cut down on wait time by going single rider.
@Jessica A This time around we stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn, it is located right across the street from the entrance of the Parks. We LOVED the location, it was so easy to walk to the Parks.
I got a decent rate, this was a last minute trip, so we booked kind of late. I think I could have gotten a better rate if I did some shopping around. We were very pleased with the hotel and the size of the rooms, as you can see we have a large family and small rooms don’t really work for us.
Oh Christy, i just love you Disney posts. I was wondering if you were going to go again this year :). We were tempted with the Costco 4 day hopper passes but decided to pass. Did you buy your hopper passes from Costco? The tickets to get in the park are always the most expensive part for our family of 5. Seems that whenever we decide to go we can’t get a good deal. We stay at the Park Place in every year and just love it. Room sizes are a bit tight so we also may look around for a bigger place next time. Thanks again for the post. Oh how I love and miss Disney Land 🙂
@Gwen Yes, we did buy the Costco passes, but we had our trip planned before they came up. I was so excited to find a way to save a little extra on the passes.
We went with 2 rooms at the Best Western since we have a family of 7 and needed the 2 bathrooms instead of just one. The size with the 2 worked out well for us. (but wasn’t as cheap as renting one room at the Staybridge Suites or a place like that). We enjoyed being walking distance though!
Have you been since they finished the changes at California Adventure? (Cars Land and the entrance?) If not, you are going to love it…they did such a great job!
No we haven’t been back for Cars Land yet. Last time we were there was Feb 2012. We have gone every Feb for 4 years now but may skip this year since our oldest is now in Middle School and shouldn’t be taking him out of school to go to Disney Land. We’ll see :). The best part about the Park Place is the continental breakfast and pool. It’s always nice to relax in the hot tub after a long day at the park.
